WAL-DRAMA IN DER OSTSEE: Rettung für Timmy abgebrochenWismar (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) – Millionen von Menschen bangen um Timmy! Der Wal liegt in der Ostsee-Bucht von Poel, leidet dort schlimme Qualen. Helfen kann man dem schwerstkranken Tier nicht mehr. Auf der Pressekonferenz am Dienstagnachmittag wurde bekannt gegeben, dass man den Wal ab jetzt in Ruhe lasse. Es werden keine weiteren Rettungsversuche mehr unternommen. Die Ostsee wird Timmys Grab werden.

Warum wird der Wal nicht mehr gerettet?
• Experten erklären, dass der Gesundheitszustand des Tieres zu kritisch ist und jede weitere Intervention zusätzliches Leiden verursachen würde. Deshalb fiel die Entscheidung, den Wal nicht weiter zu stressen und ihm ein möglichst ruhiges Ende zu ermöglichen.
Wo befindet sich der Wal aktuell?
• Der Wal hält sich in der Ostsee-Bucht vor der Insel Poel in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern auf. Dort wurde er über Tage beobachtet, zeigte jedoch keine Anzeichen auf Besserung.
