How To Check If Your Bitcoin Is Real

In this video, I discuss how to check if your Bitcoin is real, using your own Bitcoin Knots node connected to Sparrow Wallet and a good hardware wallet like the Coldcard or Blockstream Jade.
A great way to run a Bitcoin Knots node as well as other Bitcoin-related software is to buy or build a Start9 personal server and run StartOS on it.
Good reasons to run your own Bitcoin node include:
1) To verify for yourself that your BTC is real and has never been spent
2) To be able to send Bitcoin transactions without needing to ask permission from someone else
3) Privacy: if you use someone else's node, they can see all of your Bitcoin transactions (and IP address, which can be linked your physical location)
4) Forks: if there's ever a soft fork or hard fork in Bitcoin, you can decide which software you want to run (do you really want to let Coinbase or Trezor decide this for you?)
5) Running your own node that filters spam helps to make the Bitcoin network healthier
6) By running your own full node, you are helping to provide a backup of Bitcoin's history, including all transactions going back to 2009. This information can then be shared with new nodes to help bootstrap them, thus helping the Bitcoin network to grow and become more robust
