Intitolato a Castel Maggiore, nel bolognese, il centro sportivo ad Alex Zanardi. Presente alla cerimonia, tra gli altri, anche Niccolò, il figlio dello sportivo scomparso nei mesi scorsi. Con lui il sindaco di Castel Maggiore, Luca Vignoli, il sindaco metropolitano di Bologna, Matteo Lepore, e il presidente del Comitato Italiano Paralimpico, Marco Giunio De Sanctis. Presenti anche Flavio Gaudielli dell'associazione Obiettivo 3 fondata da Zanardi, il presidente della società sportiva Cinque Cerchi, Antonio Zucchini, la consigliera regionale Simona Lembi e le rappresentanze regionali Figc, Fitet, Fidal, Fibs, Fisbb, Fisr, Aics e Cip. «Questa intitolazione è dovuta all'affetto che proviamo per il nostro concittadino- spiega il sindaco di Castel Maggiore- ma è anche il riconoscimento per un grande campione dello sport. Alex non si è mai fatto spaventare dalle avversità che lo hanno travolto e così facendo ci ha insegnato che la vita è la continua esplorazione dell'impossibile.
