SPAHN-NACHFOLGE: Friedrich Merz und Markus Söder wollen Kandidaten präsentierenFriedrich Merz will keine öffentliche Debatte über die Nachfolge von Jens Spahn. Der Kanzler habe sich im Präsidium und im Fraktionsvorstand gegen Forderungen aus den Reihen der Union gestellt, berichtet Luisa Stangel in Berlin. Merz und Markus Söder beanspruchen das Vorschlagsrecht. Noch in dieser Woche wollen sie den Abgeordneten einen Namen präsentieren. Die Abstimmung soll bereits in der kommenden Woche folgen.
Offen bleibt, ob die Entscheidung nur die Spitze der Unionsfraktion betrifft. Auch eine größere Kabinettsumbildung steht im Raum. Merz hatte sie im Sommerinterview nicht ausgeschlossen.
Als möglicher Fraktionschef gilt Thorsten Frei. Der Kanzleramtsminister ist ein enger Vertrauter von Merz. Genau diese Nähe sorgt laut Transkript bei einigen Unionsabgeordneten für Bedenken. Ein Fraktionschef müsse dem Kanzler auch widersprechen können.
Auch Alexander Dobrindt bleibt im Gespräch. Der CSU-Innenminister könnte ebenfalls die Nachfolge antreten. Eine Entscheidung ist noch nicht gefallen.
