Marie S. se enamoró en Internet de un hombre que usaba un perfil falso. Un caso de estafa romántica. Fue víctima de un fraude en el que el estafador engaña a la víctima haciéndose pasar por el amor de su vida para quitarle su dinero.La empresaria Marie S. conoció a través de Instagram a un hombre que aseguraba ser un hombre de negocios estadounidense. Él llegó incluso a proponerle un proyecto. Una vez se había ganado su confianza, aprovechándose de su frágil situación emocional, el hombre no tardó en pedirle dinero. Marie S. hizo varias transferencias. Y del dinero nunca más se supo. Evidentemente fue víctima de una estafa romántica, un tipo de fraude online cada vez más frecuente.
Las afectadas sienten tanta vergüenza que por lo general no se atreven a presentar denuncia. Algunas incluso caen en una grave crisis emocional. Sin embargo, Marie S. no se quedó de brazos cruzados: dispuesta a cambiar las tornas, investigó exhaustivamente hasta averiguar quién era su estafador y llevarlo ante los tribunales en Nigeria. El timador resultó ser un nigeriano que ya había engañado a varias mujeres más. El reportaje acompaña a Marie S. a Abuya, la capital nigeriana, en su viaje en busca de justicia.
