Namun, 10 menit terakhir sebelum gencatan senjata tengah malam pertempuran sengit antara pasukan Thailand dan Kamboja pecah.
Kondisi ini diungkapkan oleh reporter media setempat yang berada di lapangan.
Disebutkan, senjata berat dilaporkan dikerahkan, menargetkan jet tempur F-16 Thailand.
F-16, pada gilirannya melakukan operasi untuk menyerang posisi militer Kamboja di sejumlah wilayah.
Mulai dari Phu Phi, Ta Muen Thom Prasat, dan Ta Kwai Prasat selama saat-saat terakhir yang menegangkan ini.
Sementara, militer Thailand menuduh Kamboja melanggar gencatan senjata yang telah berlangsung beberapa jam.
Juru bicara militer Thailand, Winthai Suvaree menyebut, militernya membalas dengan tepat.
Menurutnya, serangan balasan ini sebagai upaya untuk membela diri.
Winthai menyebut, serangan Kamboja merupakan pelanggaran yang disengaja terhadap perjanjian.
“Thailand terpaksa merespons secara tepat, dan menjalankan hak sahnya untuk membela diri.” ujarnya.
Namun, Kamboja membantah militernya melakukan pelanggaran gencatan senjata.
Juru Bicara Kementerian Pertahanan Kamboja, Maly Socheata menegaskan, tidak ada bentrokan bersenjata antara kedua pihak di wilayah manapun
