Il 14 febbraio 1989 la vita di Salman Rushdie cambia per sempre. L’Ayatollah Khomeini emette una fatwa contro di lui, condannandolo a morte per il romanzo “I versi satanici”, considerato blasfemo. Da quel giorno vive sotto scorta. Il 12 agosto 2022 viene accoltellato da Hadi Matar durante un incontro pubblico a Chautauqua, nello stato di New York. Sopravvive, ma perde un occhio e la mobilità di una mano.In questo video ricostruiamo cosa significa davvero quella condanna: non la risposta a un libro, ma un atto politico per colpirne uno e intimidire milioni.
