Київ попрощався з Олексієм Юковим, який 27 років шукав загиблих у війні
У суботу, 8 серпня, в Києві попрощалися з керівником пошукової групи «Плацдарм» Олексієм Юковим. Йому було 40 років. 27 із них він присвятив пошуку тіл загиблих на війнах — спочатку Другої світової, а згодом — російсько-української війни.Юков загинув 5 серпня під час пошукової роботи в Лиманському районі на Донеччині.
За своє життя він неодноразово опинявся за крок від смерті. Втратив око, отримував поранення, працював під артилерійськими обстрілами та дронами, заходив на заміновані території, аби забрати тих, кого війна залишила на полі бою. Для Юкова це була не просто робота. Він називав її своєю місією. «Я не можу зупинитися, поки не знайду останнього», — говорив він.
За роки повномасштабного вторгнення команда Юкова знайшла тіла тисяч загиблих військових і цивільних. Для нього це передусім були люди, на яких чекали вдома. «Ми рятуємо не мертвих. Ми рятуємо живих», — казав Юков.
За два дні петиція про присвоєння Олексію Юкову звання Героя України посмертно вже набрала необхідну кількість голосів. Тепер рішення за президентом.
