Keluarga korban longsor tambang emas ilegal Gorontalo: 'Ayah cari emas untuk beli susu adik'
Renaldi Kadoli masih menanti kabar kondisi ayahnya, Saiful Kadoli, seorang penambang emas tradisional yang telah lama mengais rezeki di Suwawa Timur, sebuah kawasan hutan yang dikenal sejak dulu sebagai daerah penghasil emas."Ayah berangkat ke lokasi tambang tiga hari yang lalu. Katanya mencari emas untuk membeli susu adik bungsu kami," kata Renaldi kepada wartawan Rosyid Azhar yang melaporkan ke BBC News Indonesia dari Suwawa Timur, Senin (08/07).
Saiful berangkat dengan dua kerabatnya, Hendra Pakay dan Upu Kadoli.
"Sebenarnya keluarga sudah sempat mengingatkan untuk menunda dulu keberangkatan ke tambang karena sering terjadi hujan lebat," ujar Renaldi.
Namun Saiful tetap bersikukuh untuk berangkat secepatnya karena harus memenuhi kebutuhan keluarganya, termasuk kebutuhan susu anak bungsunya. Kini, Renaldi hanya bisa mengandalkan tim penolong untuk membawa ayahnya, bagaimana pun kondisinya.
"Saya pasrah, saya serahkan pada hasil tim SAR saja," ujar Renaldi.
Bencana tanah longsor di area pertambangan emas ilegal di Kecamatan Suwawa Timur, Kabupaten Bone Bolango, Gorontalo, disebut satu dari beragam konsekuensi buruk atas pembiaran aktivitas tambang tradisional yang merusak lingkungan oleh aparat penegak hukum hingga elite politik.
Bencana longsor itu, hingga Senin (08/07) malam, setidaknya menyebabkan 12 orang meninggal dunia dan 48 orang masih dalam pencarian, menurut data Kantor Pencarian dan Pertolongan (KPP) Provinsi Gorontalo.
