ABD ve İsrail'in İran'a saldırılarıyla başlayan savaşta, bugünlerde en çok merak edilen konulardan biri Kürtlerin İran'da rejime karşı savaşıp savaşmayacağı.1970'lerde Irak'ta merkezi hükümete karşı isyan eden Kürt lider Mulla Mustafa Barzani dönemin ABD Dışişleri Bakanı Henry Kissinger’a yolladığı mektupla başlayan ABD ve Kürtlerin ilişkisi yarım asırı aşkın süredir inişli çıkışlı dönemlerden geçti. Bu ilişki bugün yine önemli bir gündem maddesi.
