On a graph of acceleration as a function of time, the change in velocity is represented by the signed area between the curve and the time axis. An object’s change in position (displacement) during a time interval is equal to the integral of the object’s velocity with respect to time over that interval. On a graph of velocity as a function of time, the displacement is represented by the signed area between the curve and the time axis.
