Sebagaimana diketahui, AS telah mengenakan tarif impor sebesar 19 persen, turun dari sebelumnya yang sudah diumumkan yakni 32 persen.
Ditemui saat tiba di Bandara Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta Timur pada Rabu (16/7) sore, Prabowo mengaku dirinya masih akan melakukan negosiasi dengan Trump mendatang.
Menurut Prabowo, proses perundingan tarif impor AS tidaklah mudah.
Ia bahkan menyebut Trump sebagai seorang negosiator yang cukup keras.
Prabowo mengungkapkan, pertemuan dengan Trump kemungkinan akan dilakukan pada September atau Oktober mendatang.
Ditanya apakah dirinya puas dengan tarif impor 19 persen, Prabowo berharap bisa mencapai nol persen.
Adapun momen saat Prabowo menghubungi Trump via telepon diunggah di media sosial Instagram miliknya pada Rabu (16/7).
Dalam keterangannya, Prabowo menuliskan bahwa dirinya dan Trump sepakat untuk membawa hubungan perdagangan antara Indonesia dan Amerika Serikat ke era baru yang saling menguntungkan bagi kedua negara.
Sebelumnya, Trump telah mengumumkan bahwa Washington dan Jakarta telah mencapai kesepakatan dagang baru.
AS menetapkan tarif impor sebesar 19 persen, jauh di bawah ancaman tarif 32 persen yang sebelumnya disampaikan.
Menurut Trump, untuk kali pertama AS akan memiliki akses penuh dan total ke pasar Indonesia.
