Durante una conversación telefónica el lunes entre el presidente chino, Xi Jinping, y el príncipe heredero saudí, Mohammed bin Salman, Xi dijo que China está lista para aprovechar el décimo aniversario del establecimiento de la asociación estratégica integral entre los dos países este año para profundizar la cooperación con Arabia Saudí en todos los niveles. Sobre la situación en Oriente Medio, el presidente Xi dijo que China llama a un alto el fuego inmediato y completo, e insiste en resolver los conflictos mediante canales políticos y diplomáticos. Dijo además que el estrecho de Ormuz debería permanecer abierto al tráfico normal, lo cual está en los intereses comunes de los países de la región y de la comunidad internacional.
