DEUTSCHLAND: Merz empfängt Magyar – Was bedeutet der ungarische Kurswechsel für die EU?Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz hat den ungarischen Premierminister Peter Magyar empfangen. Für die Bundesregierung ist wichtig, dass Ungarn europäische Politik und Hilfen für die Ukraine nicht mehr blockiert. Magyar erwartet Unterstützung bei der Freigabe von EU-Geldern. Der Premier wurde am 12. April gewählt und trat sein Amt im Mai an. Nach Einschätzung von WELT-Osteuropa-Korrespondent Philipp Fritz verfügt Magyar in Ungarn noch über viele Vorschusslorbeeren. Er kündigt einen Systemwechsel an. Außenpolitisch nähert er sich Europa an und gilt nicht als nah an Russland. Gleichzeitig bleibt Magyar konservativ. Er fordert Härte bei illegaler Migration nach Europa. Unterschiede zu Viktor Orbán sieht Fritz vor allem bei Rechtsstaatlichkeit und Europapolitik.
