Kash Patel, direttore dell’Fbi, è il protagonista della nuova puntata della video rubrica «L’ultima fenice» di Goffredo Buccini: «Sta diventando una specie di simbolo del degrado delle agenzie e delle istituzioni al tempo di Trump – nota - Scelto solo sulla base della fedeltà, come Trump sceglie normalmente ormai i suoi collaboratori». Di recente, Patel ha cacciato un agente con 27 anni di servizio con l’accusa di aver favorito una fuga di notizie: «Riguardo cosa? L’utilizzo, da parte di Patel, di un aereo governativo per andare a vedere la fidanzata che cantava l'inno nazionale prima di un incontro di wrestling. Nella direzione di questo personaggio la storia del Bureau è sospesa a metà tra il ridicolo e il preoccupante». Intanto il suo predecessore, James Comey, è stato sottoposto a investigazione per volontà di Trump: «Il motivo sono le sue indagini sul Russiagate. Un’accusa che nessun pubblico ministero ha voluto sostenere. Ma le due vicende dell'ex e dell'attuale direttore danno la misura della caduta dell'agenzia».
