Grund: die – nach der Riedbahn – zweite Generalsanierung der Deutschen Bahn AG. Züge, insbesondere ICEs, fahren Riesenumwege. Was für Bahnkunden ein vorübergehendes Ärgernis darstellt, ist für Lokführer von Güterzügen seit Jahren Alltag. Sie fahren oft aberwitzige Umleitungen, weil Strecken überlastet sind – auch wenn nicht gebaut wird. So kann eine Fahrt vom Ruhrgebiet nach Berlin durchaus über Hamburg verlaufen oder die Kurzstrecke Leipzig-Dresden (100 km) über Berlin führen und damit viermal so lang werden. Das kostet Zeit und Geld. Wie ist das mit der Verkehrswende vereinbar? Und können die geplanten Generalsanierungen von Strecken das Problem lösen?
