Rudal ini pertama kali digunakan selama fase terakhir Operasi Janji Sejati III.
Korps Garda Revolusi Islam (IRGC) mengatakan rudal Ghadr berbahan bakar padat dan cair.
Rudal ini dikoordinasikan dengan serangan pesawat tak berawak pintar.
