Doutor em Ecologia, João Campos-Silva vive na Amazônia há quase 20 anos, especialmente às margens do Rio Juruá. Presidente e cofundador do Instituto Juruá, dedica-se a unir a ciência e o conhecimento tradicional em processos coletivos que fortalecem as comunidades ribeirinhas — as verdadeiras guardiãs da floresta. Além de suas pesquisas, expressa sua conexão com a Amazônia por meio da música, vendo na arte uma forma de encantamento e um encontro entre pessoas e mundos.
Doctor of Ecology, João Campos-Silva has lived in the Amazon for almost 20 years, especially along the banks of the Juruá River. President and co-founder of the Juruá Institute, he is dedicated to uniting science and traditional knowledge in collective processes that strengthen the riverside communities — the true guardians of the forest. In addition to his research, he expresses his connection with the Amazon through music, seeing in art a form of enchantment and an encounter between people and worlds.
