Gracias a sus icónicas colaboraciones con Héctor Lavoe y Rubén Blades, elevó la salsa a un nivel de profunda conciencia social, convirtiéndola en un reflejo de la vida urbana. Tras su fallecimiento en febrero de 2026, se lo recordamos como un genio musical y como una figura indispensable para entender la historia de la salsa
