Algumas fábricas chegaram a produzir automóveis que funcionam com célula a combustível fuel cell, abastecidas com hidrogênio, e que rodam eletricamente. Mercedes, Hyundai, Honda.Mas a única que produziu pra valer em grandes volumes foi a Toyota com o seu Mirai. A maioria deles, mais de 10 mil, na Califórnia, nos Estados Unidos, desde 2016.
E seus proprietários estão hoje processando a fábrica numa ação de U$ 5,7 bi, por um problema aparentemente simples. Eles não têm onde abastecer seus automóveis, pois os postos que tinham o hidrogênio desativaram estas bombas, que eram deficitárias, e deixaram os donos dos Toyotas Mirai falando sozinhos.
