Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Ungkap Pengawasan Intensif hingga Dampak Tambang Nikel di Raja Ampat
KOMPAS.TV - Presiden Prabowo Subianto meminta Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup melakukan audit lingkungan dan mitigasi dampak lingkungan dari tambang nikel di Raja Ampat yang telah kembali beroperasi. Menteri Lingkungan Hidup, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, menyatakan akan melakukan pengawasan lebih intensif terhadap operasional PT GAG.Menteri Hanif menyatakan sejauh ini dampak lingkungan dari tambang nikel di Raja Ampat dapat dimitigasi. Namun ia mengingatkan ada beberapa hal krusial yang tidak boleh dilanggar untuk mencegah timbulnya dampak kerusakan lingkungan jangka panjang.
Di antaranya, tidak boleh ada limpasan permukaan yang mengalir langsung ke sungai atau perairan. Karena itu kolam pengendapan harus dibuat dengan presisi. Selain itu, tingkat emisi juga harus dikontrol dengan mewajibkan pemasangan stasiun pengendali kualitas udara.
