Pres. Trump attends dignified transfer of U.S. troops killed in Syria
President Donald Trump will travel to Delaware for the return of two Iowa Army National Guard troops killed in Syria with their interpreter while battling the Islamic State.Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard, 29, of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres-Tovar, 25, Grimes, Iowa, were killed Dec. 13 by a lone gunman from the Islamic State, who was also killed. The interpreter was U.S. civilian Ayad Sakat of Michigan.
The troops were deployed as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the military's mission to counter the Islamic State. Trump has vowed to retaliate.
