Eigenverantwortung für Europa: Die Hegseth-Ansage im VideoDie USA erhöhen den Druck auf ihre NATO-Partner. Beim NATO-Treffen in Brüssel forderte US-Verteidigungsminister Pete Hegseth mehr Eigenverantwortung Europas bei der Verteidigung des Kontinents. Er sprach sich für das Konzept einer „NATO 3.0“ aus – einer Allianz mit stärkeren militärischen Fähigkeiten und einer gerechteren Lastenteilung. Gleichzeitig kündigten die USA eine Überprüfung ihrer Truppenpräsenz in Europa an. Bundesverteidigungsminister Boris Pistorius warnte vor den Folgen eines schnellen US-Rückzugs und mahnte mehr Zeit für die Anpassung der europäischen Verteidigung an.
