Operasi ini mengakibatkan penangkapan lebih dari 118 orang dalam sepekan.
Dikutip dari Kompas.com, insiden itu terjadi di wilayah Westlake dan selatan Los Angeles.
Sementara itu, Gubernur California, Gavin Newsom, mengecam keras penggerebekan tersebut sebagai tindakan kejam yang merusak stabilitas sosial.
Aksi protes awalnya berlangsung damai di sekitar Gedung Federal, namun berubah ricuh setelah demonstran melempar benda ke arah polisi.
Kerusuhan berlanjut keesokan harinya di Paramount, wilayah mayoritas Latino, dengan lebih dari 400 orang turun ke jalan.
Bentrokan kian memanas ketika demonstran melempar molotov dan kembang api ke arah petugas kepolisian.
Bahkan aparat kepolisian setempat membalas dengan melemparkan proyektil merica dan peluru karet.
Polisi menyatakan unjuk rasa sebagai aksi ilegal dan membubarkan massa secara paksa.
Menanggapi hal itu, Presiden Amerika Serikat (AS), Donald Trump, memerintahkan pengerahan 2.000 anggota Garda Nasional untuk meredam kekacauan.
Ia pun menegaskan langkah itu sebagai dukungan terhadap operasi imigrasi.
Selain itu, Trump menyebut demonstran sebagai provokator bayaran.
