Avni Seçilmiş & 50. Yıl - Demet Demet Sevgi (1973)
Avni Seçilmiş 1947 yılında Sivas’ta doğdu. Müziğe 10 yaşında gitar çalarak başladı. Ardından yaylı tambur, flüt ve bağlama gibi farklı enstrümanlar da çalmaya başladı. 1967 senesinde Uğur Alpargun, Akın Seçilmiş ve Nazmi Güvenç ile birlikte Gardaşlar grubunu kurdu. Aynı dönemde sahne alan Cem Karaca & Kardaşlar grubu ile isim benzerliği konusu basına yansıdı. Ardından isim benzerliği sebebiyle mahkemelik oldular.Yıllar içinde grup üyelerinde değişimler oldu. 1973 yılında “Dağdan Geliyorum Gardaş / Sen Olmayınca” plağını yayınladı. Ardından aynı yıl içerisinde grup adını “Avni Seçilmiş & 50. Yıl” olarak değiştirdi. Grubun isminin 50. Yıl olmasının sebebi o yıl 50. Yaşını kutlayan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin yarım yüzyıllık müzik akımlarını incelemek ve yorumlamaktı. Aynı yıl içerisinde “Bir Yaz Akşamı / Demet Demet Sevgi” 45’liğini yayınladılar ve ardından grup dağıldı.

Avni Seçilmiş was born in 1947 in Sivas. He began his musical journey at the age of 10 by playing the guitar. Later, he started playing various other instruments such as the yaylı tambur, flute, and bağlama. In 1967, he founded the band Gardaşlar together with Uğur Alpargun, Akın Seçilmiş, and Nazmi Güvenç. Around the same time, the similarity between their name and the band Cem Karaca & Kardaşlar, who were also performing during that period, attracted media attention. Due to the name similarity, the two sides eventually ended up in a legal dispute.
Over the years, the band’s lineup changed. In 1973, they released the record “Dağdan Geliyorum Gardaş / Sen Olmayınca.” Later that same year, the group changed its name to “Avni Seçilmiş & 50. Yıl.” The reason for the name 50. Yıl was to examine and interpret half a century of musical movements in the Republic of Turkey, which was celebrating its 50th anniversary that year. In the same year, they released the 45 rpm single “Bir Yaz Akşamı / Demet Demet Sevgi,” after which the group disbanded.
