Polisi telah menangkap pelaku yang berjumlah tiga orang yang tak lain adalah teman-teman korban.
Mereka adalah MI (23), AA (18), dan IH (25) yang seluruhnya adalah warga Pasuruan.
Wakapolres Pasuruan, Kompol Andy Purnomo dalam keterangan pada Senin (21/7) mengatakan, ketiga pelaku mengenal korban SE melalui media sosial sejak 2020 lalu.
Aksi pembunuhan ini bermula ketika korban SE, tersangka MI, AA, dan IH baru saja mengunjungi pemandian air panas di kawasan Gempol pada Kamis (17/7).
Saat perjalanan pulang menggunakan mobil, SE diduga melakukan aksi pelecehan terhadap MI.
Tak terima dengan aksi SE, MI kemudian memukul korban hingga berujung pertengkaran oleh keduanya.
Situasi memanas saat korban mengambil senjata tajam untuk melakukan pengancaman.
MI lantas merebut senjata tajam tersebut dan melemparkan ke AA yang kemudian menikam korban.
Sedangkan IH melakukan pemukulan pada korban menggunakan kunci mobil.
Ketiga tersangka lantas membuang jasad korban SE ke saluran irigasi.
Adapun dari hasil autopsi menunjukkan bahwa SE tak langsung tewas seusai dianiaya karena terdapat air dalam paru-parunya.
Artinya korban meninggal seusai dibuang ke irigasi.
Atas perbuatannya, tiga tersangka dijerat dengan pasal 338 KUHP tentang pembunuhan dan atau pasal 170 ayat 2 poin 3 KUHP dengan ancaman hukuman maksimal 15 tahun penjara.
