Mali: Al-Qaeda Linked JNIM Kidnaps 3 Indians; Modi Govt Expresses Concern | Firstpost Africa | N18GThe Indian External Affairs Ministry has said that three Indians were abducted amid a series of terror attacks in Mali. The Indian government has expressed “deep concern” over the abduction and condemned the deplorable act of violence. India has called upon the Malian government to secure “safe and expeditious” release of the Indians abducted. New Delhi said the Indian embassy in Mali’s capital, Bamako, is in close and constant communication with the relevant authorities and the family members of the victims. According to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, a group of armed assailants carried out a coordinated raid at the factory premises and forcibly took the three Indian nationals. The assault was a part of a larger attack across western Mali, claimed by the Al-Qaeda affiliate group, Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM).
