Pemerintah Iran bersumpah akan memberikan "konsekuensi abadi" sebagai balasan atas agresi tersebut.
Di balik pernyataan tegas, para petinggi keamanan dan intelijen Iran kini tengah mempertimbangkan enam langkah balasan strategis.
Langkah pertama, menyerang pangkalan militer AS di kawasan Timur Tengah, khususnya di Bahrain dan Irak.
Iran juga mempertimbangkan menyerang kapal perang AS di Laut Merah secara langsung atau melalui sekutu mereka, Houthi di Yaman.
Selain itu, Iran juga bisa menutup Selat Hormuz, jalur vital energi dunia.
Hal itu dilakukan dengan cara menebar ranjau laut yang bisa memicu krisis minyak global.
Bahkan Iran berpotensi menggunakan kekuatan sibernya untuk menyerang infrastruktur digital Amerika Serikat tanpa melibatkan kontak fisik.
Sementara itu, Iran menunda serangan hingga kondisi mereda, kemudian melakukan balasan mendadak terhadap target diplomatik atau pusat kota.
Di sisi lain, opsi diplomasi tetap terbuka, meski Iran mengklaim AS dan Israel telah menggagalkan upaya perundingan sebelumnya.
Namun, semua opsi yang dipertimbangkan mengandung risiko besar, terhadap stabilitas internal di Teheran.
