Die Autobauer in der Krise: Schwächelnde Verkaufszahlen und geopolitische Krisen belasten das Geschäft. VW hat gerade erst einen Milliardenverlust vermeldet. Auch bei Mercedes ist im ersten Dreivierteljahr der Nettogewinn auf 3,9 Milliarden Euro geschrumpft – das sind 50 Prozent weniger als im Vorjahreszeitraum. Fahren wir aufs Abstellgleis? „Die Konkurrenz aus China ist eben gewaltig groß. Machen wir uns nichts vor. Sie können günstiger anbieten. In China gibt es auch den Trend, dass man eher - auch vielleicht mit Subventionen - chinesische Autos kauft. Das spielt VW nicht gerade in die Karten. Beim Massenmarkt ist die Konkurrenz noch viel größer, als dass in der Premiumklasse der Fall ist", so Robert Halver. Der Experte von der Baader Bank weiter: „Weltweit haben wir auch noch den Trend weg von den Dienstwagen. Die Premiumklasse als Prestigeobjekt ist auch nicht mehr so gefragt. Das macht man heute vielleicht eher mit einem schicken Smartphone. Und auch von der Politik gibt es eine unklare Gemengelage. Was machen wir mit Verbrennermotor und E-Mobilität. Der Fisch stinkt immer vom Kopf. Die EU muss schon sagen, was man möchte. Es ist immer so unklar und schwierig.
