Kecelakaan melibatkan sebuah truk wing box dengan nomor polisi W 8292 UQ yang dikemudikan Abas Basuki, dengan Honda Jazz F 1264 GZ yang dikemudikan oleh Anissa Nadya Sukma.
Dua korban dilaporkan tewas dalam insiden tersebut, sementara satu lainnya mengalami luka berat.
Ada pun korban meninggal adalah sopir truk dan penumpang mobil Honda Jazz.
Sementara penumpang yang mengalami luka berat bernama Bagas.
Berdasarkan informasi terakhir, seluruh korban sudah dievakuasi ke rumah sakit terdekat, sedangkan dua jenazah lainnya dibawa ke Pos Laka Lantas Cikamuning.
Menurut keterangan anggota Patroli Jalan Raya (PJR) Cipularang, Aipda Andhim, Senin (8/9), kedua pengendara awalnya melaju dari arah Bandung menuju Jakarta.
Namun saat melintas, mobil Honda Jazz tiba-tiba menabrak bagian belakang truk.
Menurut Andhim insiden nahas itu diduga terjadi akibat adanya kelalaian dan kurangnya antisipasi dari pengemudi.
Adapun dalam rekaman video yang beredar, tampak mobil Honda berada dalam kondisi ringsek dan bagian depan mobil masuk ke dalam kolong belakang truk.
Saat ini kasus kecelakaan maut telah dilimpahkan ke Unit Laka Lantas Polres Cimahi.
