In Mitte fanden Berliner und Touristen viel Amüsement. Die "Kleine Revue" im Friedrichstadt-Palast und das "Ballhaus Mitte" an der Chausseestraße waren mit ihren Erotik-Shows Geheimtipps. Im VEB Milchhof Pankow und bei Rewatex in Spindlersfeld wurde im Drei-Schicht-System gearbeitet. Mutti und Vati gingen spät zur Arbeit und kamen im Morgengrauen nach Hause.

Seltene Aufnahmen aus den Archiven und Erinnerungen von Zeitzeugen lassen die Abende und Nächte in Ostberlin lebendig werden.
