Auch die Fußball-WM 2026 wird den Trend nicht grundsätzlich aufhalten. Wie eine angeschlagene Brauerei gerettet werden kann, zeigen die Beispiele aus Greiz und Pößneck (Saale-Orla-Kreis).
Dort hat sich ein branchenfremder Erfurter zum Brauerei-Retter etabliert. Mit Solaranlagen und Wasserstoff sollen beispielsweise Stromkosten am Bierpreis halbiert werden. Das Sorgenkind der Branche in Mitteldeutschland ist derzeit die Mauritius-Brauerei Zwickau. Die Traditionsbrauerei ist in vorläufiger Insolvenz, es wird aber weiter Bier gebraut und verkauft.
