KOMPAS.TV - Ketahanan pangan memerlukan inovasi solutif agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi populasi penduduk Indonesia yang besar. Lalu, sejauh mana upaya pemerintah mewujudkannya?Berdasarkan data Global Food Security Index (GFSI) atau Indeks Ketahanan Pangan Global yang dirilis The Economist dan Corteva, perusahaan sains bidang pangan, menempatkan Indonesia pada posisi 63 dari 113 negara dengan skor 60,2.
Ketahanan pangan Indonesia pada 2022 lebih rendah dibandingkan rata-rata global yang indeksnya 62,2 dan di bawah rata-rata Asia Pasifik 63,4. Di kawasan ASEAN, Indonesia menempati urutan keempat setelah Vietnam, Malaysia, dan Singapura.
Di sisi lain, Indonesia juga menghadapi kondisi perubahan dan ketidakpastian yang cepat dan tidak terduga, di mana pihak otoritas perlu bersikap adaptif, mencari solusi ketahanan pangan di masa depan.
Butuh inovasi pertanian untuk memenuhi ketahanan pangan nasional sesuai amanat UU Nomor 18 Tahun 2012 tentang Pangan.
