A girl sitting in front of her home on her phone was suddenly targeted when a suspect armed with a knife approached her, grabbed the phone from her hand, and began running.The girl screamed for help as the suspect fled the area. Seconds later, a frantic call came in to the Shomrim hotline from the mother of the girl, reporting that the suspect was now threatening her daughter with a knife.
Shomrim volunteers responded within seconds and quickly picked up eyes on the suspect. The NYPD was dispatched to the scene as volunteers kept eyes on him and followed at a safe distance while providing constant updates.
Officers from the NYPD with the help of Shomrim moved in and took the suspect into custody.
