I’m back in Newton, Kansas—and this visit is extra special. I’m returning to the barbershop my grandpa used to bring me to when I was just a little boy. Back then, Dwight was the barber, and I still remember sitting in that big chair, watching him work while my grandpa chatted away like everyone here was family. This shop has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Today, the tradition continues with Tom, the new barber who’s taken over the shop and is keeping its classic charm alive. I’m sitting down with him for a fresh haircut, catching up on the shop’s stories, and reliving some of those childhood memories.
