HURRICANE ISAIAS: Georgia officials warn residents to take storm seriously
In response to the rapidly strengthening Hurricane Isaias, Georgia state and emergency officials are urging residents to take the storm seriously, shifting their focus to a message of "hope for the best but prepare for the worst". On Thursday, Governor Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency for all 159 counties, warning that while a direct hit is not expected, the state faces imminent threats of heavy rainfall, flash flooding, tornadoes, and wind gusts up to 50 mph. The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency has fully activated its State Operations Center to coordinate regional requests for emergency generators, satellite phones, and debris staging. Additionally, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr issued a stern warning against price gouging on essential supplies, while local leaders in counties like DeKalb and Henry have declared localized emergencies to open storm shelters and pre-position recovery crews ahead of weekend power outages.Subscribe to LiveNOW from FOX! https://www.youtube.com/livenowfox?sub_confirmation=1
