Russia Ukraine War LIVE | Four Killed in Night-time Russian Attack on Kyiv: Ukraine | N18GFour people were killed early on Saturday (January 18) in the centre of Kyiv in a night-time Russian attack, said Timur Tkachenko, head of the Ukrainian capital's military administration. Tkachenko's post on the Telegram messaging app said that the deaths had occurred in the city's Shevchenkivskyi district. He said falling debris had also hit the Holosiivskyi district on the west bank of the Dnipro River that runs through the capital and in the Desnyanskyi district on the opposite bank. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said air defences were in operation around the city. Klitschko said windows had been shattered in Shevchenkivskyi district, including at a metro station which had been closed. He said smoke was coming out of an apartment building and repair crews had been dispatched to fix a damaged water supply pipe. Ukraine said it's military destroyed 24 drones and two ballistic missiles launched by Russia during the overnight air strike. It added that a total of 39 drones and four missiles had been launched across various parts of Ukraine.
