US President Donald Trump's new visa rules have left thousands of Indian H-1B applicants in limbo. Their interviews are delayed, their travel plans are on hold, and their jobs are hanging by a thread. The Trump administration introduced a new requirement: all H-1B and H-4 applicants must undergo an "online presence review" starting 15 December 2025. From that day on, every applicant must meet the standards set by this new social-media vetting process. The US Embassy in India announced on 9 December that visa appointments are already being cancelled and pushed to later dates. The move has sparked outrage on social media.
