Polemik serupa kembali memanas pada Oktober 2022 ketika penulis buku Jokowi Undercover, Bambang Tri Mulyono, menggugat Jokowi ke Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Pusat, pada 3 Oktober 2022.Bambang menggandeng Ahmad Khozinudin sebagai penasihat hukum mendaftarkan gugatan perdata di PN Jakarta Pusat (No. 592/Pdt.G/2022/PN Jkt.Pst), menuding Presiden Jokowi menggunakan dokumen ijazah palsu untuk pemilu 2019–2024.
Namun, gugatannya akhirnya dicabut. lantaran Bambang Tri terjerat kasus penistaan agama dan ditahan 6 tahun.
