Iran says US of strikes on Kharg Island, warns of retaliation
Al Jazeera's Mohammed Vall joins live from Tehran. Vall says Abbas Araghchi says that the United States is launching HIMARS missile strikes on Kharg Island from the United Arab Emirates, specifically near Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.Vall adds that Araghchi warned Iran could retaliate and urged regional countries to remove US military bases to avoid being drawn further into the conflict.
Vall also reports that at least 15 people were killed in strikes in Isfahan, while attacks have continued in several Iranian cities, including Tehran. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says it has shot down a drone over the capital and insists its navy remains operational despite US claims.
