25 лютого стало відомо, що Київ узгодив з Вашингтоном умови угоди про видобуток корисних копалин. За даними медіа, США відмовилися від вимог щодо права на 500 мільярдів доларів потенційного доходу від експлуатації цих ресурсів. Як пише «Економічна правда», оновлений договір не передбачає, що США повністю володітимуть спільним із Україною фондом, але він не має чітких гарантій безпеки. Президент США Дональд Трамп повідомив, що Володимир Зеленський, ймовірно, відвідає Сполучені Штати 28 лютого, щоб підписати угоду.
