যাই হয়ে যাক, রক্ষা কর্তা একমাত্র তিনি, যিনি রাজার গুরুও বটে। উচ্চতায় সম্রাটের চেয়ে সামান্য কম, কৃষ্ণবর্ণ, ন্যাড়া মাথায় শুধু লম্বা টিকি এবং সাধারণ ব্রাহ্মণ সন্ন্যাসীর বেশ। কপালে চন্দনের ত্রিবলী টিকা, গলায় রুদ্রাক্ষের মালা এবং বুকের ওপর দৃশ্যমান পইতে তাঁর ব্রাহ্মণ্যত্বের পরিচয় দিচ্ছে। । ব্যক্তির আপাত বিশেষত্বহীন চেহারায় উল্লেখযোগ্য অংশ তাঁর দুটো অস্বাভাবিক উজ্জ্বল চোখ। অন্তর্ভেদী সেই দৃষ্টিতে যেন বিদ্যুৎ খেলে চলে প্রতি মুহূর্তে। অপরিচিত কোনো ব্যক্তি এই ব্রাহ্মণকে দেখে কোনোদিনই অনুমান করতে পারবে না যে ইনি মহামতি বিষ্ণু গুপ্ত চাণক্য।

Whatever the truth may be, there is only one protector—the man who is also the king’s guru. Slightly shorter than the emperor, dark-skinned, with a shaved head save for a long tuft at the back of his head, he wears the simple robes of a Brahmin ascetic. A triple sandalwood mark adorns his forehead; a rudraksha mala hangs from his neck; the sacred thread across his chest proclaims his Brahmin lineage.
Yet his otherwise unremarkable appearance is transformed by one striking feature—his two unusually luminous eyes. In that piercing gaze, lightning seems to flicker every moment. No stranger, upon seeing this humble Brahmin, could ever guess that he is the great strategist Vishnugupta Chanakya.
