Download Saily app or go to https://saily.com/xtra ~ ❤️ In this day/week in my life as a Filipino-Japanese LGBTQ+/gay boy living in Tokyo, Japan... @merwel, @stewiefukase, and I spent 24 hours in Tokyo going only to places with “no tourists.” No Shibuya. No Shinjuku. No Harajuku. Just a normal Wednesday in the parts of Tokyo that locals actually go to.We started in Musashi-Koyama’s Palm Shotengai to try the famous giant parfait from Oosama to Strawberry and grab yakitori from a tiny neighborhood shop. Then we headed to Oimachi for lunch at Fuji Soba and explored Ito Yokado, a classic Japanese local mall.
In the afternoon, we trained at Tokyo Metropolitan Gym in Sendagaya — a public gym where actual Tokyo residents work out. For dinner, we went to Irobata no Iroba, a cozy local izakaya, and ended the night at Suehiro-yu, a traditional neighborhood sento (public bath).
This is what Tokyo is actually like on a regular weekday — no tourist hotspots, just real local life.
