Sebab, serangan balik dari Iran sangat kuat dan berisiko tinggi.
"Satu-satunya negara yang bisa melakukan serangan secara cepat yang lebih masif menghancurkan fasilitas Iran tampaknya adalah Amerika, tidak bisa dilakukan oleh Israel," ujar Yon dalam wawancara bersama Tribunnews pada Selasa (17/6/2025).
Namun, Yon menyebut keterlibatan AS dalam perang Israel-Iran juga akan mengundang reaksi negara lain.
"Bisa saja kemudian akan memantik negara lain termasuk juga Rusia ya walaupun telah kalah di Suriah, tapi bisa saja ada komitmen Rusia terhadap Iran berkaitan dengan upaya menghadapi AS jika terlibat (perang)," imbuh dia.
Meski begitu, ia belum melihat perang Israel-Iran akan mengarah pada Perang Dunia III.
Sebab, belum terbentuk blok yang didukung oleh sejumlah negara.
Terkait potensi perang meluas, Yon menekankan satu hal bahwa senjata nuklir jangan sampai digunakan.
"Kalau itu yang dilakukan bisa kiamat karena dampaknya sangat besar," pungkas Yon.
