Compare natural vs. synthetic vitamins, and why it matters here: https://drbrg.co/4e51Awf

Did you know an 18,000-person clinical trial involving beta-carotene and lung cancer was stopped early after participants taking the supplement had worse outcomes?

Beta-carotene is a precursor to vitamin A, but the beta-carotene used in the study was synthetic. Get beta-carotene from food sources for the best results and to avoid potential negative side effects.

Synthetic vitamin E may be okay short term, but with long-term use it can contribute to oxidative stress. Synthetic vitamin A can also create problems, including competing with vitamin D at the receptor level, increasing the risk of birth defects during pregnancy, and increasing the risk of bone fractures. Get vitamin A from foods like egg yolks and cod liver oil.

Other synthetic vitamins and supplements to avoid include:
• Pyridoxine hydrochloride
• Calcium carbonate
• Ergocalciferol

Too much iron can also be damaging to the body, so focus on food sources of iron when possible to avoid consuming too much.
