Прямо перед выездом на передовую у украинской БМП-1 слетела гусеница. Этот крайне напряжённый момент едва не сорвал всю операцию. И при этом Польша решила модернизировать 1 300 таких сомнительных «железных коробок». Можно ли довести БМП‑1 до стандартов НАТО — или она опозорится в современном бою? Советские БМП — как новорождённые котята. Ночью слепые, в бою глухие, а броня — будто из фольги. В нынешней войне поездка в такой машине — билет в один конец: первый же FPV‑дрон, который тебя заметит, её пробьёт. Именно поэтому ещё в 2000‑х поляки попытались порвать с прошлым и модернизировать свой парк BWP‑1.Самый большой минус — и одновременно главный плюс — БМП‑1 это её гусеницы. По бездорожью она зверь по сравнению с колёсной техникой — осеннюю грязь проходит легко. Как ни странно, украинские экипажи привязываются к своим БМП‑1.
Они просты в обслуживании. И закономерно возникает вопрос — поменяли бы они свою БМП‑1 на американский M113?
