Penembakan berlangsung di Distrik Muara, Kabupaten Puncak Jaya, Papua Tengah, Selasa (16/7/2024) malam.
Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Letkol Inf Candra Kurniawan menyebut, ketiganya berinisial SW (33), YW (41) dan DW (36).
Saat hendak ditangkap, mereka melakukan perlawanan dengan menembaki prajurit TNI.
Akhirnya terjadilah baku tembak antara keduanya hingga menewaskan tiga anggota OPM.
"Dengan respons cepat aparat keamanan Satgas Yonif RK 753/AVT melakukan penindakan terhadap gerombolan OPM tersebut," kata Candra, dikutip dari Tribun-Papua.com, Rabu (17/7/2024).
Candra menyebut, mereka adalah anak buah dari Teranus Enumbi yang sering berbuat kejahatan di Puncak Jaya.
Sayangnya dalam baku tembak pada Selasa (16/7/2024), pimpinan OPM tersebut berhasil kabur.
