Inovasi Pertamina: Minyak Goreng Bekas Disulap Jadi Bahan Bakar Pesawat Ramah Lingkungan

CILACAP, KOMPAS.TV - Kini minyak goreng sisa pakai tak lagi menjadi barang yang sia-sia.

PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) RU IV Cilacap telah berhasil memproduksi Pertamina Sustainable Aviation Fuel atau SAF dengan bahan baku campuran minyak jelantah.

Ini jadi kabar menggembirakan bagi masyarakat karena tak perlu bingung lagi kemana harus membuang minyak jelantah agar tidak mencemari lingkungan.

Konsumen hanya harus membawa minyak jelantah ke bank-bank sampah untuk dijual.

Per kilogramnya, minyak jelantah dihargai Rp5 ribu.

Setelah terkumpul di bank sampah, akan ada pengepul yang mengambil minyak jelantah itu yang nantinya akan disetorkan ke kilang pengolahan.

Green Avtur atau SAF ini merupakan terobosan yang sejalan dengan Asta Cita yang dicanangkan Presiden Prabowo Subianto, yakni mewujudkan kemandirian energi sekaligus menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan.

Kapasitas produksi di Kilang Cilacap saat ini mencapai 1.200 kiloliter per hari dengan komposisi campuran minyak jelantah 2 sampai 3 persen.

Sehingga kebutuhan bahan baku itu mencapai 40 kiloliter minyak jelantah.

Tak berhenti pada produksi saja, Green Avtur ini akan digunakan pada pesawat-pesawat milik Pelita Air Mengangkasa ke sejumlah rute penerbangan.

Diharapkan nantinya bahan bakar ramah lingkungan dapat digunakan maskapai-maskapai penerbangan nasional maupun internasional sehingga dapat menciptakan lingkungan terutama udara yang lebih bersih dan bebas emisi karbon.
