На примерах Петербурга, Москвы, Саратова, Самары, Тулы и других городов она показывает, как выглядели кладбища, почему их закрывали и сносили, что происходило с надгробиями и как старые памятники превращались в строительный материал.
В лекции — дореволюционный вандализм и кражи на кладбищах, законы Российской империи, советская национализация кладбищ, уничтожение старых некрополей, повторное использование надгробий и необычный феномен кладбищ-музеев.
