Ubah Limbah Plastik Jadi Paving Block Hingga Tradisi Khas Suku Banjar yang Lestari | KOMPAS SIANG
BANJARMASIN, KOMPAS.TV - Di sebuah bengkel di SMK Negeri 5 Banjarmasin, guru dan siswa berkolaborasi merakit mesin yang mampu mengolah sampah plastik menjadi paving block.Meskipun siswa yang terlibat saat ini tengah menjalani magang, proyek pembuatan mesin ini membuktikan kreativitas dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan.
Proses perakitan membutuhkan waktu lima hari empat malam, menggunakan peralatan bekas yang tersedia di sekolah.
Mesin yang dinamakan Extruder Plastik ini memanaskan limbah plastik pada suhu 180 hingga 200 derajat Celsius.
Setelah meleleh, plastik diubah menjadi pasta yang kemudian dicetak dan dipress secara manual menjadi paving block.
Berbagai jenis plastik mulai dari botol bekas, styrofoam, hingga sampah makanan berbungkus plastik dapat diolah dengan mesin ini.
Saat ini, paving block hasil olahan tersebut dimanfaatkan untuk menata lingkungan sekolah.
Mesin dengan kapasitas listrik 7.500 watt ini baru saja diikutsertakan dalam Kompetisi Inovasi Daerah Tingkat Kota Banjarmasin.
Melalui lomba tersebut, para siswa dan guru berharap inovasi ini dapat diadopsi lebih luas untuk menangani masalah sampah plastik.
Inovasi sederhana ini membuktikan bahwa solusi lingkungan tidak selalu perlu modal besar.
Dengan kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan kepedulian, sampah plastik pun dapat disulap menjadi sesuatu yang berguna.
Sementara itu, di Banjarbaru, tradisi Baayun Maulud sebuah budaya turun-temurun khas Suku Banjar kembali diselenggarakan.
Tradisi ini tetap dilestarikan warga untuk mensyukuri keberkahan di bulan kelahiran Nabi Muhammad.
